Service Projects give students the opportunity to live "acts of kindness."
The heart of our mission is Service and the objective is to have the children know firsthand the challenges and rewards of caring for those in need. These “acts of kindness” are important because they connect the love of neighbor with the love of God. In the past students have played bingo with the seniors, collected gently used clothing and food, made lunches and sang Christmas carols. In our busy, modern day society, there are multiple ways we can do this meaningful work. Here are some of the ways CJB shares their gifts and the people/organizations we’ve helped.
Here is a list of recent service projects performed by CJB:
- Hosted a lemonade stand at Packet Pick-Up to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
- CJB students and staff make lunches for The Port Ministries.
- Thanksgiving Food Drive benefiting Respond Now.
- We made Easter treat bags for children and people with special needs at Respond Now, Blue Cap, and Port Ministries.
- We collected clothing and nursery items for the Maryville Crisis Nursery.
- Volunteer at Shepherd’s Table.
